A princesa Eleanor foi capturada pelo mago maligno Morbius e está em algum lugar na fortaleza de Kastlerock. Você faz o papel de Shadax, que agora deve resgatar a princesa, procurando na fortaleza as seis peças do cajado mágico de Demnos e usá-lo para derrotar Morbius. O Solstício é uma combinação de um jogo de quebra-cabeça / aventura e ação jogado de um ponto de vista 3D isométrico. Existem numerosos quartos para explorar na fortaleza, muitos com criaturas perigosas e perversas perambulando e armadilhas e obstáculos para superar. Ao longo do caminho, existem poções mágicas, chaves e muitos outros itens para descobrir, que o ajudam a superar as criaturas e a alcançar novas partes da fortaleza.
